Experience an opportunity to tempt your taste buds. Meet the local Food Producers, hear their stories, sample their products, and then come back to our kitchen and produce an impressive gourmet lunch with our experienced Chef! You will also get to enjoy a glass of local Matakana wine to match.
Our day will cater for all levels of expertise and confidence, in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful food and wine destinations, just an hour north of Auckland. Our focus is on using the freshest seasonal produce and products available from our local producers. You will have a fun packed day meeting interesting locals and learning through a hands-on experience. With a maximum of 8, the small class size will guarantee you get plenty of Chef's attention. All lessons begin at 10am and finish by 4pm and cost $249.00. Minimum group size is 4, maximum 8. If there are only 2 of you, get in touch and we will see if we can get the 2 of you to join up with some others. Otherwise, you can pay a premium price BUT have Chef just for the 2 of you! This cost includes; morning tea and snack, guided food tour and tasting, all ingredients, cookery lesson, lunch, wine match, recipes for the day, and a small goody bag to take home with you. Experience a morning to tempt your taste buds. Meet the local Food Producers, hear their stories, sample their products, and then take off with Chef on a guided tour of some of our other local food producers around the area, who you wont find at the farmers market. In addition enjoy a local wine tasting en route and finish with and a local light lunch with a glass of local wine - all the while being escorted by Chef and getting all the local insiders food knowledge! This experience is for any one interested in tasting some of the best quality food you will find in New Zealand. The Matakana Coast is one of New Zealand’s most beautiful food and wine destinations, just an hour north of Auckland. This cost includes; locally roasted coffee and snack, an introduction to our local Greenswap system, a guided food tour of the Matakana Village Farmers Market - including 6 tastings, a tour of our local community garden, a visit to 2 other local artisan food producers, a wine-tasting, and a cafe-style lunch with a glass of Matakana wine, finishing with an organic icecream or gelato dessert.
